For me, the living room is more than just a comfy and relaxing space – it also needs to be a multifunctional space where a home-owner can really express their style. I think the most important detail is a comfy sofa and extra seats for guests but a large rug, accent cushions and lighting can rapidly lighten up the dullest of rooms. I love the clean white setting and mix of textures with a yellow highlight colour in this Scandinavian living room arrangement. The extra fireplace or wall art is the cherry on top!

Above we have seen just how sectional sofas can flourish in both ultra modern spaces and more eclectic ones. But sectionals shine in chic, upscale interiors as well. There is no arguing that the fashionable accent wall is the most trendy accent attribute in family rooms across the world. It is easy to create, often needs very little attempt and allows you to add color, pattern and texture to the space with absolute ease. Think of eclectic living areas and one picture loads of bright colors and accessories that seem a touch tacky and bold. Yet there are many different plans to go eclectic while letting the style to blend in nicely with the rest of your more modern home. An eclectic living space, expressly a small one, need not be filled with furniture and accessories beyond necessity. In tiny living areas, try and choose a bold couch, a coffee table with a metallic glint and a plush rug with a splash of color to create the same visual affect while keeping the space visually uncluttered.
